For good winter tires, I go to a tire (only) store and ask if they have any "hardly used" ones that will fit my car. These stores are constantly replacing the tires on other companies rental vehicles that are now being sold as used cars - after less than a year's use, and only intermittent use, at that! Good tires, great prices!

For the best overall deal on tires, Costco wholesale wins hands down. I just put BF Goodrich AT's on my Jeep with winter rims. 179.00 per tire plus the 40.00 winter rim. They change the tires, balance, install, and dispose of the old skins at this price. Also, their warranty is the best that I have found! They also include, at no charge, tire rotation. You can get good deals on Ebay or craigslist.com, plus LiveDeal.com. We went to the wreckers and got used rims for $60 total, and the store wanted $56 each. You can go to the Tire Rack web page, and they tell you what rims will fit your car. We have a 2006 HONDA CIVIC and they changed the wheels pattern but my husband was able to pick up some at the wreckers that fits a different car but would also fit ours.
